Bridging the Gap: How to speak to children

It’s 2022, and children must be part of the conversation on diversity for us to move forward as a society. In this interactive course, Sájari teaches adults how to have difficult conversations with their children relating to equality and racial justice. This course is designed for parents, teachers, and people who work with kids.

Participants will leave with:

  • Tools needed to “bridge the gap” with their children.
  • Confidence in ability to facilitate conversations.
  • Understanding of children’s cognitive capabilities at every age.
  • Self-reflection techniques.
  • Methods to improve their children’s communities

The Cognitive Psychology of Racial Justice

In this workshop, we discuss the psychology and mental processes associated with racism, exclusion, and social revolution in America. This approach helps eliminate ‘white guilt’ and allows for true reflection.

Racial bias is deep within our society no matter our background or ethnicity. This course is designed to shed light on some of the underlying beliefs that we carry with us, in order to actively change them. We’ll gently explore potential blindspots, fight against feelings of guilt, and inspire a more equal future.

Participants will leave with

  • Understanding the social and psychological shifts needed for racial justice.
  • Tools to improve their company culture.
  • Ability to amplify voices of oppressed people.
  • Tactics to identify one’s own blind spots.
  • A deeper understanding of their own implicit bias
  • Greater compassion for the experiences of others.
  • A plan to improve their offices, communities, and homes.
  • Confidence in hosting difficult conversations with others.
