About Roaring Fork Show Up

Founded in 2020, the Roaring Fork Show Up Organization embodies inclusivity and advocacy in the underrepresented communities of the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.  Increasing access to boardrooms, snowsports, and ownership are the cornerstones of this organization.  With a steadfast commitment to amplifying the voices of the oppressed, advocating for systemic change, and fostering genuine connections within diverse communities, we serve as a beacon of social justice. Show Up for one another isn’t just a motto but a guiding principle, driving members to actively engage in advocacy, dialogue, and action. Through initiatives aimed at creating financial equity, bridging racial divides, and increasing access and opportunity for BIPOC individuals in business and snow sports through partnerships with the National Brotherhood of Snowsports (NBS), Roaring Fork Show Up aims to dismantle barriers and cultivate a more inclusive community as a whole. Education and providing safe spaces for meaningful conversations and connections are central to the mission.  We hope to see you, whether on the slopes, trails, or in the community.

At Roaring Fork Show Up, our mission is to raise awareness of racial inequalities and actively engage in community collaborations that promote sustainable, healthy, and equitable development, redevelopment, and public services for all residents of Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of the oppressed, advocating for systemic change, and fostering genuine connections within diverse communities. Our vision is to create a thriving and inclusive Roaring Fork Valley where every resident, regardless of race or background, has equal access to opportunities in business, snowsports, and community leadership. We aspire to be a model of social justice, fostering a culture of inclusivity and advocacy that dismantles systemic barriers and empowers underrepresented communities. Through education, safe spaces for meaningful conversations, and strong partnerships, we envision a community united in its commitment to equity, diversity, and sustainable development.

Short Term Goal

In the short term, Roaring Fork Show Up  is focused on creating meaningful pathways for individuals from the BIPOC community to engage in outdoor activities across Colorado. Through targeted initiatives and collaborative partnerships, we aim to increase accessibility and representation in outdoor spaces. Our short-term goals include organizing a series of outdoor events, such as hiking excursions, skiing trips, and community camping days, specifically designed to welcome and celebrate diversity. By providing opportunities for connection, skill-building, and cultural exchange in natural settings, we seek to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment among BIPOC individuals. Additionally, we are committed to offering resources and support to overcome barriers, whether financial, logistical, or cultural, that may prevent participation. Through these efforts, we aspire to create a more inclusive outdoor community where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Annual Goal

Each year, Roaring Fork Show Up Organization sets out to achieve a series of impactful goals designed to advance our mission of promoting equity and inclusivity within the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. Our annual objectives include expanding our outreach programs to engage more members of the BIPOC community in outdoor activities and leadership opportunities. We aim to host a diverse range of events, workshops, and seminars focused on racial equity, business development, and snowsports accessibility. Additionally, we plan to strengthen our partnerships with local organizations, schools, and businesses to enhance community collaboration and resource sharing. To ensure sustainability and growth, we are committed to rigorous fundraising efforts, securing grants, and increasing our volunteer base. By setting these annual goals, we strive to make measurable progress in dismantling barriers, fostering community connections, and empowering underrepresented individuals to thrive in all areas of life.

Long Term Goal

Looking to the future, Roaring Fork Show Up Organization is dedicated to realizing our long-term vision of establishing a community and business center tailored to the needs of the BIPOC community in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. This center will serve as a hub for empowerment, education, and economic development, providing a space for cultural enrichment, entrepreneurship, and advocacy. Our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can access resources, support networks, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and businesses, we aim to secure funding and logistical support to make this vision a reality. By building bridges across communities and promoting collaboration, the center will play a pivotal role in fostering social cohesion, resilience, and prosperity for generations to come.
